Personal: Easter Camp 2014 Reflections

Easter camp this year was a really powerful one for me. It made a huge impact on the way that I am able to see the events that occurred over the Easter period as well as changing my view on what’s going on around the world. Before any of that happened though over the weekend I was introduced to the true power of words! Spoken word is such a powerful tool for getting a message across to people in a new way. We were confronted by Micha, an American spoken word poet. He really challenged me, his ability to put pen to paper and express his inner thoughts so clearly through words is simply astounding. However it wasn't the way he spoke that got me no matter how powerful it was. Instead the things that he spoke of, things that were   so relevant and on par with the world, expressing the things that go through everyone's minds at some point took my breath away. I don't know anyone who can bring a room to silence so quickly. The main speaker on camp was  Danielle Stricklan...
