It's just one of those days

I think you all know what I'm talking about. One of those days when nothing goes your way, where you just want to give up, where you think "I have had enough".

I'm sure that Moses had heaps of these days. He was denied by pharaoh to let his people go many times. But he never gave up. Read Exodus 7-8 for more info. Why was it that Moses kept fighting through? He had God on his side. He had a clear vision. He knew that he could fall back on God for help.

He had God on his side
With God on our side we cannot fail. Read Psalm 124: 1-5
We cannot be swept away by the things of this world with God as our anchor.

He had a clear vision
Moses was directed to free God's people from Egypt. He had this clear in his mind. It was his main focus. Like Moses we should have a clear vision.
Hebrews 12:1 Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us. A sprinter focus on the finish line. Have a look at our enemy before the race starts and once its finished. The enemy will try and push you out of your lane or distract your vision. Keep the finish line in focus and don't loose sight of it.

He could fall back on God when he needed help
God was always talking to Moses. Constantly in his ear. A word of encouragement here and a new plan there. God can do the same for us. We just have to listen. So often we find it so hard to find quite time to listen to God and what he has to say. We however need to keep in constant contact with God. It could be a short prayer at the start of the day or half an hour studying his word. Every second counts.

When we apply this to our lives and follow in Moses footsteps to deal with "one of those days" we cannot fail, we will not give up and sure stuff won' always go your way but you have a God who is all powerful looking over you.

**This is something a little different** The holidays are almost over for some of us and for others who are going off to uni you have a little bit longer but sooner or later we are going back to school and for some back to a place of insecurity, a place where they really don't want to be, and thats all right, that totally acceptable and something very very normal but this evening (or whenever you are reading this) I want to challenge you. Trust

Have you ever had a friend that you called you bestie and you told them everything. Your biggest secret is now something that the person can use against you. You have trusted them with something important to you, did this friend show the same trust to you. We put our trust in a seatbelt that it will protect us if we crash. We put our trust in the teacher that they are teaching the right stuff. But how often is it that we trust in the lord. Is it because we cant see him or touch him. Maybe because we cant hear him speak the way we want him to. If we cant trust him with that little thing, how can we trust him with the big thing. We cant admit to him the wrong that we have done, we dont want him knowing what he already knows. Trust can take a life time to build up but only seconds to break down and another life time to rebuild. Have you broken someones trust that you spent a life time to create.
